More about, HEALER: A new release.

To love and protect…across worlds.

War rages on planet Magio, where soul-bonds are forbidden between the people of Peacio and Dralion, yet within a high-ranking inner circle, those illicit bonds exist and teeter perilously on the edge of discovery.

Twenty-year-old Peacian empath Belle Benner has been waiting two years for her soul-bound mate to claim her and when she finally meets him, she discovers he’s the last person she ever expected him to be. Her mate is a warrior healer from within the enemy’s ranks, a man she must release if she wishes to accept the greatest challenge she’ll ever undertake, that of bringing their world’s warring to an end.

Dralion warrior healer Nicolas Vegara will do whatever it takes to keep the war between the nations of Peacio and Dralion from escalating. If he must give up his forbidden soul-bound mate, he will. If dangerous lies must be told to safeguard her, he’ll utter them, and if he must lay down his life for those he’s called to protect, then he’ll do so.

It’s time for the battle of two warring nations to come to a head. Can this young mated pair bring together two battling kings to resolve their issues…and find love along the way for themselves?

“C’mon, Belle. Let’s get you inside and I’ll call Nicolas to come up.” Faith steered me back inside her room then returned to the palace balcony and hands cupped to her mouth, called over the railing, “Nicolas, are you free?”

“I am now. I’m on my way.” He stepped away from Killian then a mere moment later, he shimmered in on the balcony, wrapped his arms around Faith and chuckling, planted a noisy kiss on her cheek. A wolf whistle and a hoot echoed up from below and Faith’s cheeks went red.

I backed up a little farther into her room.

Nicolas caught my movement, lifted his chin and cast me a look through the open doors.

“Hey.” I lifted a wobbly hand.

“You’re her.” Still looking at me, he growled low to Faith, “Why did you bring her here?”

“I had a vision and saw that the two of you needed to talk. Ask Belle all about it. I’m going to leave you two alone so you can chat.” She patted his back then shimmered and disappeared.

Oh boy. I hadn’t wanted to talk to Nicolas on my own. I should have told Faith to remain so she could help me get through this first meeting. “I, ah…” My tongue got stuck.

“You have a dimple each side of your mouth and a mole above your left eyebrow.” With his intense blue gaze drilling into me, he stepped through the doors, his belted sword swaying at his side. “I saw you on Earth last week with Faith and Silvie before one of the others in your group ’ported you away. Faith told me back then that you’re a protector and an empath, one in the know about hers and Davio Loveria’s bond, just as I am too.”

“That’s right, and you’re Nicolas, her healer and knight in shining armor.” I dragged in a deep breath and let it slowly back out. “That was meant as a compliment, in case it didn’t quite come out that way.”

Happy Reading!

Yay! Here's the Cover Reveal for ENCHANTER, Magio-Earth Book Three. Releasing Soon.

I’ve been waiting eagerly to show you this cover.

Magio-Earth Book Three

Coming May 5th, 2014

With Kensington Books, Lyrical Press Imprint.

To love and protect…across worlds.

On planet Magio war rages between Peacio’s protectors and Dralion’s warriors. Friendships and soul-bonds are forbidden, yet deadly secrets lurk within a high-ranking inner circle.

Eighteen-year-old Peacian Silvie Carver’s worst problem is completing finals until her best friend receives forewarning that Silvie is the key to keeping her enemy king from making a decision that will escalate the war. Silvie must save her loved ones’ soul-bonds from being torn apart, and all without revealing her emerging and rare fire skill during the mission.

Dralion warrior and enchanter, Guy Moyer, has been fighting his soul’s demand to find his mated one…who also happens to be his enemy. Except Silvie shows up on Dralion’s off-world Australian Outback station and though they renounce their bond, his soul demands he aid and protect her.

When Silvie finds herself impersonating a warrior, she’s pulled to the fiery edge of her control as she seeks to influence the king’s decision. Can the mated pair turn the tide of the war and find their place with each other?

In ENCHANTER, the heroine Silvie, is Faith’s best friend and the sister of Hope’s soul-mate. Silvie featured regularly in book one and two, and I couldn’t wait to write her story. I knew exactly what I’d be putting her through, and that she’d be more than ready for every challenge I threw at her. Silvie learns she is not only mated to a warrior enchanter, but holds the most deadly of the battle skills.

I also have some fabulous news for fans of this series. I’ve been waiting for Protector and Warrior to re-release with Kensington Books/Lyrical Press Imprint. When Your Book Releases in Time For Your Birthday — Yay!

What a wicked birthday present I just got. Certainly every writer’s dream. WARRIOR is set to release next Monday, but it has arrived early, and right in time for my birthday today. Yay! It’s out now wherever e-books are sold, and I’ll be sure to drop those links in for you later in the post.

First though, I’ve never brought out a full length excerpt from WARRIOR, so I’m going to rectify that today. Also, here’s what a few of the reviewers have said about WARRIOR. I’m just beaming over these.

“Imaginative world-building, stunning setting & a love fated to be.” — Jessi Gage, Author

“I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.” — The Jeep Diva, Reviewer

“I’m loving this series! So different and cool, and I just loved Silas and Hope’s relationship.” — Holly Underhill, YA/NA Reviewer

Here’s the excerpt I promised.

Silas extinguished the lamp, and moonlight filtered through the tiny square window. He rolled to his side, facing me. “We’ll stay close. I can’t dismiss the mated bond. Our souls call to one another and it’s strong.”

I felt it too.

“I can’t keep my distance from you, Hope. That would result in your death.”

“Yeah, but yours would result if my grandfather, Donaldo, ever found out about you. The need to protect goes both ways.”

A low growl rumbled from his throat. “It sounds like you’re arguing with me.”

“I’m pointing out the facts. Alexo keeps the knowledge of Faith’s relationship with Loveria a secret.”

“We don’t have their kind of relationship.”

“So this is a non-relationship?” I smiled. That actually suited me.

“Okay, honey. I got it.”

He pulled me to him. “I have no idea why, but I like you. You have a smart mouth.”

I snuggled closer, resting my cheek against his chest. “Mmm-hmm. So do you.”

He let out a slow breath and it fanned over the top of my head. “I still want to kiss you.”

“Hell, no.” I grinned to myself.

“Are you repeating my earlier words?”

“Yes, I am.” He rolled me, coming up over top. My heart raced. “Don’t–”

His kiss was potent as he claimed my mouth.

I had no response. I was lost, hypnotized as we shared breath and a moment more special than any in time.

He cupped my face in his hands and stroked my cheeks, his thoughts escaping for the first time.

I read them so clearly within the merge.

He wanted this moment to last.

My heart soared and my soul called to his on the deepest level. “We are in a world of trouble,” I murmured against his lips.

His hold tightened, intoxicating me. Then he eased away an inch, maybe two. “You have the most beautiful spun-gold hair. It catches even the moonlight and glows like silk.”

I cleared my throat. “I know I just said trouble. You should stick to your side of the bed in this non-relationship.”

A wicked grin widened his mouth. “I could drown in the brilliant violet of your eyes.”

“Do I need to slap your face?”

He laughed. “Yes.”

I pushed him away, trying to get my heartbeat to slow. “Go away.”

He rolled into me, held me close. “I’ll be good. Just keeping you warm. It’s my right.”

I curled up, squeezing my eyes shut. “I can’t believe I’m sharing a bed with you. Do you snore?”

“Terribly. I’m also a bed-hog.”

I heard the partial lie, but to which half of that statement? “Hmm, since I’m squished between you and the wall, I’m picking you’re a bed-hog.”

“You feel all warm and soft. I’m not going anywhere.” He nuzzled my hair and yawned. “Go to sleep. You’ll need your rest if you want to be on your toes tomorrow.”

I didn’t doubt it. The minutes ticked by, and I slowly relaxed. My soul-bound mate lay beside me. For one night, or perhaps for more? I had no idea.

Thank you all for helping me celebrate the release of WARRIOR. Thank you. Thank you. 🙂

Have a great week, everyone.

WarriorI was thrilled last week to see my upcoming September 2nd release WARRIOR, take out the SWOON AWARD on a reviewer’s website. She gave PROTECTOR (book one in the series) an honourable mention for its swoony scenes, although here’s what she had to say about WARRIOR (book two)–

Holly Underhill, YA/NA Reviewer — “I’m loving this series! So different and cool, and I just loved Silas’s and Hope’s relationship. 4.5 Stars.”

Her full review will be out on release day, but here’re the two SWOONY EXCERPTS which won the award.

“Missed you. Really missed you.” He kissed me, so fiercely I almost fainted again. He pulled back, a bare inch, his gaze darting all over me. “How do you feel? Your heart’s finally beating right. I’ve been so worried. You won’t ever do that to me again. Do you hear me?”

I flicked out my hands as they tingled, as blood raced through and returned to them. Even the red patches of sunburn on the backs of my hands healed with my restored skill. I sighed and wrapped my arms around his neck. “Righto, but you deserve some more lip action, and not the telling-off sort.”

No sooner were the words out than he took my breath away with a soul-claiming kiss. So hot. His need swirled through me as I dug my mind deeper into my sweet spot.

Oh, I was not leaving his mind, or his mouth.

He stroked along my shoulders, down my sides and over my hips.

My heart raced.

Silas’s sword clattered to the ground as he rolled off the couch and stared at me. Then he was no longer there. He ’ported the ten feet then wrapped his arms around me like bands of steel. “Are you real?”

Cupping his face in my hands, I grinned. “Kiss me and find out.”

Pushing me against the wall at my back, he did, or devoured was more like it.

I couldn’t think straight, and in that instant I didn’t care. I wanted him and only him.

Oh sweet heaven. More.

“We need privacy.” I clutched his shirtfront, my world spinning. “Bedroom. Now.”

I hope you enjoyed that. I can’t wait for WARRIOR to release.

I’ve got an exciting project underway. I’ve written a novella in my historical HIGHLANDER HEAT line which I’m submitting and *fingers crossed* will be accepted and included in an anthology along with some other awesome authors. This anthology will release early November and is compliments of those authors. I can’t divulge who the publisher is, but I can say this collection of short stories will be FREE. Yay. I love FREE. I’ll keep you all posted on this. 🙂

And lastly, more fabulous news. My contemporary romance, WITNESS PURSUIT, has had its release date brought forward by a month, and will now arrive December 2nd. Wow, my hubby and kiddies haven’t been able to peel me off the ceiling this week. I’m floating on cloud nine.

Anyone else had a great week too? I hope you all have. Drop me a comment if you’d like to. I love hearing from you guys.

Stay safe. I’ll catch ya later.

WARRIOR — Sneak Peek Sunday Excerpt

To love and protect…across worlds.

There’s something infinitely exciting about writing young adult books, and even better, adding the magical element of fantasy, along with some sensational romance. My Magio-Earth series is all about soul-bound mates, destined to be together, yet separated by the terrible war between their two nations.

Today, I’m participating in “Sneak Peek Sunday,” and that’s where I get to bring you a sneak peek excerpt from WARRIOR which releases on September 2nd. I hope you all enjoy the sneaky excerpt. The rules are, I can only post 6 paragraphs, so here they are below.

To set the scene Hope Wincrest is in the Outback of Australia, her Dralion people’s off-world station. She’s just met her soul-bound mate, Silas, and even though mated to him, she’s just discovered he’s from the enemy nation. Hope has just asked Silas to tell her more about her sister, Faith. She’s never met her, but her father has charged her with discovering all she can about her sister’s deadly skill, and all without coming into contact with her.

He grabbed my shoulders and I shivered at the delicious contact. It was expected, even though unwanted. Silas was my mate, the one my soul was bound to.

“Your sister survived the ordeal by mere minutes upon her return to her mate, Davio. She was gone for three days to Dralion and suffered physically while she was away. She must be in the same room as him to mind-merge, and without this connection, her body shut down. I witnessed the deterioration myself.” His blue gaze held mine, his hands warming my skin. “Her lungs filled with blood and she almost bled to death before my eyes. It was a gruesome sight. Once she merged, it took hours for her fast-healing ability to restore her. I would never wish to witness such a thing again.”

“I can’t imagine all you speak of. Continue, please.”

“When your sister mind-merges with my cousin, it’s not something she can hold back. Other than this, there’s nothing more I can tell you. You should go to your father for more. He is aware.”

Dad would know all of this because of his forethought. His request was not all it seemed. “I need more time to hear what you have to say.”

He stroked to the edges of my shoulders. “No. The mated bond builds fast and we can’t allow that to happen.”

If you want to check out some more fabulous excerpts from other writers, the full list of participants is right here – > Sneak Peek Sunday

Also, if you haven’t checked out book one in the series titled PROTECTOR, and you’d like to, the buy links are just below. Thanks for joining me, and don’t forget, if you want to drop me a comment, make sure you do. I love hearing from you guys. 🙂

Have a wonderful, relaxing Sunday everyone.

AUTHOR: Artist, Unwavering, Tremendously Hard-working, Organized, Real.

This week I’ve baked two birthday cakes, packed twenty school lunches, cooked seven dinners, washed a gazillion clothes, fed the dog, cleaned the car, vacuumed the house, and I also walked into a cobweb by accident and became an instant karate master. 🙂 Yeah, that’s what my son said as he watched in awe, and I’m going with that.

On top of all that, I’m an author, an artist, unwavering, setting aside eight hours a day to write. I’m completely organized, not that you’d tell it from the piles of work sitting everywhere in my office, but I am. And lastly, I’m real.

All authors are. We have family to care for, usually a secondary job (because that pays the bills,) and a ton of other commitments, yet we’re tireless in our dedication to our craft.

This week that’s really hit home as I worked my butt off to finish line edits, and proof the galley of WARRIOR’s final file. In amongst that, I had another book going through its final round of content edits, and yet another going through pre-edits. My fabulous editor worked equally as hard as me, and the morning I received my book’s final files from my publisher, it was to discover all that hard work had paid off big time. My publisher notified me she’d moved WARRIOR’s release date forward by two months. Yes, two months, to September 2nd, and all due to being so ahead of deadlines. Yee-ha! It was totally unexpected, and it totally blew me away.

So, over the weekend I launched into promotion mode for WARRIOR’s upcoming release. I emailed files to YA reviewers and spent several hours creating a book trailer, although that’s just the beginning. Yep, those authors who’ve released books are right now nodding their heads. It’s a big job to promote, and it takes a lot of time. Time we’d rather spend writing.

But this participation in promoting our own work, whether authors go traditional, or self-publish is the reality for all writers. We not only have to write, but we have to promote and sell our work. We can’t get away from it. It’s the simple truth.

Which is the reason for this post. AUTHOR: Artist, Unwavering, Tremendously Hard-working, Organized, Real.

Click “like” on this blog post if you agree and you’re one of these AUTHORS.

Lastly, if you have a moment, take a look at the youtube video I created for WARRIOR. I had a ton of fun making it, and couldn’t wait to share it with you all.

Have a fabulous week. If you want to drop a comment, make sure you do. I love hearing from you all.

Sooo Excited — Check Out My New Cover for Warrior

What a magical moment I had last Wednesday. WARRIOR’s cover arrived from my publisher, which meant I spent the entire day printing off copies and pinning them around the house. Yep, my hubby and kiddies couldn’t walk anywhere without seeing the image. So, huge thanks to Renee Rocco of Lyrical Press NY for her skilful hand at cover-art.

Warrior is book two in my YA fantasy romance series. Each book features a new heroine and hero, and Warrior is the story of Hope and Silas. Although the characters from the first book, Protector, feature prominently throughout the second, so you’ll not miss catching up with Faith and Davio along the way. Also, as both the heroines from the two books are from the famed Wincrest line, the images of the two girls are strikingly similar. So, here it is, WARRIOR’s cover. I hope you enjoy.

WARRIOR ~~ Magio-Earth Book Two ~~ Young Adult, Fantasy, Romance.

Thanks so much for joining me in celebrating the release of my cover. I’m currently working hard on Book Three in the series, and having a blast writing Silvie’s story. She’s one fiery redhead who knows how to have fun. I should have this one ready to send out for submission at the end of May. So close. I can’t wait. If you want to drop me a comment, you know I love hearing from you.

Got A Contract! — Now Celebrating.

congrats yes

Yay! This would be me right now, if I were a cat! 🙂

Hey, everyone,

I’m doing a huge happy dance down here in New Zealand.

My second baby book titled “Warrior,” in my young adult/fantasy/romance series got a contract. Woo-hoo. Huge thanks go to Renee Rocco and her fabulous team at Lyrical Press NY for saying “yes.” I’m beyond excited. In fact if there weren’t a ceiling over my head, I would have floated away by now. Ah-huh, yes I would have.

Wow, it’s the coolest feeling to know my characters will have their story told, and thank you to all of you who twiddled your fingers with me as I waited to hear back. You guys rock.

In the meantime, to continue the celebrations I have a wonderful critiquing offer for you all. I said I’d bring it back–and I have. (Offer is below.)

I’ve also been super busy learning how to create a book trailer, so here’s what I’ve pulled together for your viewing pleasure. This book trailer is for “Protector” which releases on 7th January 2013. Oh boy, literally just one month away. What a wicked lead up to Christmas I’m having. Just click here to view the trailer on youtube –> Protector’s trailer.

So, to my offer–everyone who leaves a comment asking “for a critique” will have their name put into a hat. What do you win? Yours truly shall be your second set of eyes to go over the first four pages (or 1500 words thereabouts) of your novel. That’s the first four pages. Not four pages from the middle of the book, but the first four pages. Okay, so if you’ve been catching my blogs, you’ll know my skills are in the editing department–which means it will be a fabulous critique. You’ll love it.

I’ll pick a winner and post the name next week on my blog, so keep your eye out for who that is. (Particularly the winner, because you’ll need to get in contact with me via email.)

Now, I’m off to finish my third manuscript, a romantic suspense which I’m aiming to have ready for submission in the next week or two. Yep, why is it a writer’s work is never done?

Okay, catch ya all later.
