DREAM ON
Her quest begins when she closes her eyes.
Emory Bennett owns a lucrative dreamwalking business. Trained in weaponry and Muay Thai, she spends her nights entering the dream realm resolving her clientsβ nightmares, whatever they might be: bad guys, scary beasts, or the classic forgot-to-wear-my-pants nightmare. Her jobs get complicated when a gorgeous man keeps appearing requesting her help.
Grayson, a fellow dreamwalker, is stuck in the dream realm while a stranger inhabits his body. He needs Emoryβs assistance in the waking realm, which he canβt visit if he canβt get back into his body.
Once Emory is convinced Graysonβs not a figment of her imagination, they concoct a plan to lure the body snatcher out. But as Emory begins to fall for Grayson, the line blurs between him and the stranger who inhabits his body. She must keep it together to get close enough to discover his secrets, or divide her very soul if she canβt bring the man she loves back.

dreamwalkers, eh? sounds like a neat story already!
I can’t wait to read it myself, Mark. It sounds like fantasy, within fantasy.
Thanks!
I’m going to have to check out this book as well as the last book she read!
Hi Krysten, I’ve read Renita’s first book “Gossamer” and loved it. It’s YA, too. I love YA books.
Thanks!
Oh. My. Gosh. Love, love, love the premise of this book. It’s like Inception, except, we get it and it has a happy (please, please, please) ending. Right?
Hey, Amy. Oh, I loved watching Inception. The ending on that one still gets me. π
Lol. Absolutely. There’s a nice big HEA ending. Plus, I’d love to say it’s like Inception but it’s nowhere near as deep. My worldbuilding isn’t nearly as complicated and this is much more of a fun, lighthearted read. It was super fun to write!
Interesting concepts. Just how big though is this fantasy market?
Hi Peter, I think fantasy as a sub-genre’s been around for a while. Now we’re seeing it more and more being added to our other favourite genres. It adds that other-worldly/realm of imagination. It’s not quite paranormal, but more fantasy/mystical. If there’s another place/or/world in your story that isn’t somewhere on Earth, then that element of our book falls into the sub-genre of fantasy.
When I think of how many books I’ve read that are like this, it’s a large number. Even the old classic Peter Pan includes the fantasy sub-genre. π Love that. Thanks for dropping by.
Thanks! Like Joanne mentioned there are tons of subgenres of Fantasy. A lot of books are classified as fantasy with subgenres like paranormal, steampunk, urban fantasy, magical realism, the list goes on and on. Urban Fantasy takes place in an urban setting, has a supernatural element and is typically contemporary. Also the romance–if there is one–is usually secondary to the larger issue of the main conflict/plot. Of course, I write romance so while that is secondary to a bigger issue it’s definitely a major plot point for me.
Fun interview, ladies! Congrats on the new release, Renita. It sounds like another winner!
