Ellie had always wished for such a moment as this, and since this might be the only opportunity she ever had with Ashten, she placed her gloved hand in his and showed her ready acceptance with her actions.
“You are far too trusting.”
“You would never hurt me.”
“Let’s hope not.” Gently, he turned her hand over and finger by finger, tugged on the soft silk until he’d removed her glove then done, dropped it onto the bench beside him and brought her palm to his mouth. With one warm and incredibly soft kiss against her skin, the midnight blue of his eyes twinkling bright, he asked, “Are you ready?”
“Is there anything I need to do during this disrespectful kiss?”
“No, not a thing.” As the opening notes of a waltz floated toward them, he rose and drew her to her feet, then slowly, carefully, he pulled her into his arms.
“I can’t believe we’re about to dance.”
“And kiss.”
“Yes, that too.” She placed her gloved hand on his shoulder, her ungloved hand still held firm in his. Never had she ever danced this close to a gentleman before. Six inches was the required etiquette, and there was less than three inches between them right now. “You look dashing, as if you’ve dressed for this ball tonight, then chose to remain indoors.”
“Since we’re being honest, I was extremely tempted to come.” He swept her around the inner circle of his gazebo, his hand firm on her waist and his limp barely noticeable. “Did you have to dance”—he cleared his gruff throat—“with quite so many men tonight?”
“Yes, but I much prefer dancing here with you right now.” Her legs wobbled. Was Ashten truly going to kiss her? Perhaps he was simply testing her, to see if she really did have a suitor she intended on eloping with. If he was, then she’d have to take great care.
“There’s an allure to a disrespectful kiss. Do you want to know what it is?” He leaned in closer, his breath whispering across her lips.
“Tell me.” She sucked in a breath, her heartbeat thundering in her ears.
“It’s called the danger that awaits with the conclusion of that kiss. Does one simply stop, or does one continue with a second disrespectful kiss?”

Hi everyone, I had such a blast writing Highlander’s Claim and getting to know Hunter and Ailith. Ailith is actually Cherub’s niece, one of the full-blooded fae from beyond the veil, and in this story more of the faerie realm comes to light. You’ll also get to meet Ailith’s sisters too, both of whom have their own story in the next two books in this series. Cherub and Kirk sure have their work cut out for them watching over these three cheeky lasses. Excitingly, Isla also features in Highlander’s Claim as well, and she’s getting very close to the end of her pregnancy. I can’t wait for her twin sons (holding the seer ability) to be born. Isla and Iain have actually asked me (well, demanded) I write their story about their travels to Stirling Castle far in the past, as well as the coming birth of their babies, so that will be happening since they won’t let me be. 🙂
In other exciting news, I’ve also written my first Regency Romance in the last couple of months, and plotted out a further three Regency novels in this new series titled REGENCY BRIDES. The first book, The Duke’s Bride, will release October 24th, 2017. Here’s a sneak peek at the cover, just for you. No pre-order links yet, but they’ll be up late July.

Back a step, she inched until she hit her back on the corner bedpost. She cast her gaze down his impressively built body once more, his muscles all sleek and hard and—she cleared her throat. “So, I see you’re a big man, ah, everywhere.
“Aye, I’m most definitely dreaming, because that is exactly what I would have wanted you to say when you first looked upon me.” The gold flecks flickered brighter in his stunning brown eyes and with one finger crooked, he motioned for her to come back to him. “Dinnae be afraid of me, my fiery empath.”
“I’ve never been afraid of you, but then I’ve never quite seen you like this afore.” Return she would though. She inched forward, until the tips of her toes touched the tips of his bare toes, then she tipped her chin up and looked him in the eyes. “You appeared to be enjoying your bath, while you spoke my name.”
“Aye, I always do speak of you when I bathe and dream like this.” He wrapped his hands around her waist, dipped her back off her feet and touched his mouth to hers. He kissed her, so whisper-soft, as if he wished to savor the taste of her then with a low growl, he deepened their kiss, his tongue sliding over hers in a kiss that completely scattered all her thoughts.
Naught had ever felt so right.
Coll was kissing her, for the first time, and he was completely naked too.
